All this Mustang hate, apparently.

My jimmies have ne’er felt a rustling in the presence of one, except the one time I was a passenger on a short run down a back-road in a borrowed Cobra.

Looks - meh. But it had some kick to it!

But I have to say, while I initially wasn’t a fan of this latest generation of Mustang at first, the looks are growing on me. I really like the shape of it; dare it say it, if you removed the badges, it could almost pass as something European. It looks much leaner, much more lithe, than the previous couple generations. A return to form for the original Mustang concept.

The only thing i don’t like about the design is how high the hood is, or rather the line of it. I realize they are constrained by engine bay head-space safety regulations, but a gradually sloped hood would have been a more classic look than how they have it now (parallel to the ground with a sudden drop off). BMW is guilty if this too; I think it looks bloated rather than muscular.

That being said, I’ll take my GT in Guard green with the leather interior please.

Oh, i know exactly what you’re saying. When the new design first came out, that’s all I could see, and it bothered me.

But having seen them in traffic and walking by them in person, it doesn’t seem that bad anymore; or rather, it’s not so bad that it distracts me away from everything i like about it.

I especially like the rear. The haunches seem lower than the previous generation, and the taper of the rear glass toward the centerline of the car makes the rear sides look so much more sculpted. The whole rear just looks proportionally balanced, and simple without being an elementary-school sketch.

Pedestrian safety regulation is the reason for the high hood.... So now if you hit someone they will go under the car instead of slamming into the hood where the may hit the hard engine.

I'm gonna say the current gen is the prettiest Mustang ever, and easily one of the 10 most attractive cars on the road today. They really hit a home run with it. The real beauty is in all the subtle details and compound curves. I've always been Mustang-Indifferent (That's like the "Q" in LGBTQ) but now I'm am getting more and more...uh..."buy curious."

LOL! Well said, though I’m not sure I’d’ve been able to find that analogy on my own.

Yes, yes, yes! This is that thing about the design that just makes me go, “It’s pretty and I am sure it is a great car, but... something is wrong.” I just don’t like the hood shape. That is 100% why I don’t want one. Now a 2010-2012 GT500..... HHHHNNNNGGGGG

I’ve got more analogies than Dennis Miller on an Ecstasy bender.

Couldn't have said it better myself. I was following one in traffic last night and found myself admiring it the whole way

Good looking from every angle, too. Not many cars pull that off anymore. The low trunkline, haunches, and overall "squat" is a refreshing change from the tall, slab-sided designs of the past couple decades.
